Join goDCgo and Metro for an in-depth training for employers ready to set up a pre-tax or subsidized transit benefits program. Beginning January 1, 2016, employers with 20 or more employees in the District will be required to offer a commuter transit benefit.
In this webinar, learn how this ordinance can benefit your organization and receive step-by-step guidance on setting up a compliant program:
• goDCgo will share information about DC’s Commuter Benefits Ordinance and the wide variety of commuter programs employers can offer.
• SmartBenefits account representatives will give in-depth training on administering your organization’s pre-tax or subsidized transit benefits. SmartBenefits is Metro's free, IRS-compliant, web-based program that lets employers assign commuter benefits directly to employee SmarTrip® cards for use on all rail, vanpool and bus travel throughout the D.C. metropolitan region.
• Additional information about third-party benefits administrators (available to manage a SmartBenefits program for you) will be provided.
Employers are encouraged to apply for a SmartBenefits account at wmata.com/smartbenefits 7-10 days before the webinar so their account will be approved and ready to use after the webinar. Employee benefits must be entered by December 15 for benefits to be available January 1, 2016.
To learn more about compliance and enforcement, please consider registering for an upcoming webinar with the DC Department of Employment Services’ Office of Wage-Hour. The webinars, being held in November and December, are designed to inform, educate and share expectations with employers about the new Sustainable DC Omnibus Amendment Act of 2014.
